I Gusti Bagus Nyoman Pandji (1930s–2006) was a pioneering Balinese musician, teacher, and scholar who bridged tradition and academia. As the first director of KOKAR Denpasar, he helped establish formal arts education in Bali, later studying and teaching ethnomusicology in Amsterdam. His generosity and skill left a lasting impact on students and colleagues worldwide, remembered for his musicianship, intellect, humor, and hospitality.
