KINANTHI SEMEDI

This episode is during the battle between Rama’s combined forces and Ngalengka.
In this version, the monkey army has been attacked and many lie wounded. Laksmana is also wounded.
Hanoman meditates and is visited by Narada who informs him that the way to revive Laksmana
is by applying a leaf which he will find growing on the slopes of the Malyawan mountains.

1. Nalikanira ing dalu

Wong agung mangsah semèdi

Sirep kang bala wanara

Sadaya wus sami guling

Nadyan ari Sudarsana

Wus dangu nggènira guling.

In the night, a great man meditated.

The monkey army slept peacefully.

Even Sudarsana’s younger brother slept.

The hesitant one (the one meditating) is startled.

He is hugged tightly.

[Narada speaks:] "Oh, gem of the world,

it is you who worries,

whose heart is sad,

who is ill."

to give you this sacred plant

to return together to the cave Kiskendha.
